1 Onion, finely chopped
1 tbsp curry powder
1 tbsp. hot paprika
1 tsp mustard powder
1 can (400g) crushed tomatoes
60g brown sugar
40g Cider vinegar
Salt & Pepper
Heat a little oil in a saucepan over medium heat and Add 1add the diced onion. Cook slowly until soft, about 10 minutes.
Add the curry powder. mustard and paprika; cook for 1 minute more being careful not to burn the spices.
Then add the can of tomatoes into the pan followed by the sugar and vinegar. Increase the heat and bring to a boil.
Reduce the heat so the sauce simmers and cook until thickened, stirring occasionally. This will take about 20 minutes.
Cook the sausages until lightly browned and slice into rounds. Add the Currywurst sauce and sprinkle with extra curry powder. Serve with fries….and a large german beer!
